Climbing on fixed anchors is widely practiced and accepted in those areas where the type of rock and its formation make it impossible to use other protection means. However,we decided to go further and reduce the visual impact of our anchoring systems. We attempted to avoid sheen with camouflaging them by applying a quality paint coating which resembles the color of different types of rock. We achieved four colors which matched the most common rocks: light gray, dark gray, rust and tan. They became the mimetik™ range of anchors hot painted (180ºC/356ºF) with epoxy. This new line of products is mainly conceived to be placed in sport climbing and near high traffic trail areas. Hangers, glue-in bolts, top-anchors with carabiner are available in any of these four colors upon special order. Spotting camouflaged rappel stances is difficult in hard descending conditions, that´s why these units are only available upon request.
